This is our second Mission trip, the first to El Salvador and now to Tanzania. Each were different and both so wonderfully enlightening and fulfilling. And on top of that to be able to experience it with one of our daughters and her husband. To be greeted so warmly by absolutely everyone you see is so comforting. Seeing the familiar faces of Mama Victoria and Exaud....friends in Africa....Wow! Working side by side, having the same looks of surprise at what we saw, after seeing the looks of surprise from the Kimaro's in NE, seeing the pride in the peoples eyes, their being so joyful in everything they have (which to many of us is very little). They work hard, they rest well, they are such joyful people, yet they said that hypertension is becoming more common. Let's not take our busy lifestyles and ruin their joyous ones. There were no people standing on the corners asking for money, they were too busy working in theirs shamba's or trading/selling their goods at market. Mama Victoria said they wanted 2 embroidery machines and 10 sewing machines. It took me a while, but I determined that her "embroidery machine" is our low end electric sewing machine with zig zag. They cut out and zig zag around patterns to design their embroidery. Their sewing machines are treadle machines. We have such complicated lives.
With God's blessings. Becky
