Sorry that I did not post a blog yesterday but we have basically been doing the same things the past couple of days. I heard that you woke up to snow in Nebraska. Most of us woke up with a sunburn. = )
Yesterday we worked for a while in the morning moving bricks to the kindergarten room, cutting grass with "slashers" and trimming the hedges. Some of the ladies in the group tried to learn to carry things on their head like the women of Tanzania do...the key word is tried! Sarah ended up soaking Pastor Munisi's arm but they just laughed it off.
After lunch we took a walk around Mudio village and got to see a part of the life that these people live. When we got back to the church we played another game of Tanzania volleyball but this time there were other people who seemed to have a better concept of the rules so it was a little more fun.
After volleyball we sat in on the youth choir singing. What an experience! They were amazing. They do some songs to warm up using the keyboard but then the rest they sing a capella. For one song someone reads the Gospel and the director comes up with a song from it that they then sing and somehow everyone knows their part and the words instantly. Some of us tried to learn the dances but we are a little to white to be able to dance like they do.
For dinner we went to an Indian restaurant named El Rancho. If you think the name is weird for an Indian restaurant, they also had a miniature golf course in the back of it. We went with Saltieli Munisi and his wife who JoHanna calls her African mom.
Today was basically the same but with a lot less work. We worked for a little while this morning and then just rested. Some of the youth from the youth group had been helping out and today a lot of them were also in the youth choir so they sang more songs for us which was cool. We went for another walk this afternoon but it was a lot of up hill so it was not too leisurely.
It has been fun getting to know the members of the youth group and the church. Some of them speak English fairly well so it has been fun.
The most tiring part for most of us has been the kindergarteners though. They never lose energy and are always pulling you this way and that. Today we taught them the "Hippo Song"
from VBS and they really enjoyed that one.
It is sad that tomorrow is our last day at Mudio but I think that we are all more than grateful for the amazing time that we have had with the people there. They have forever touched our lives. I hope that they have seen the love of Jesus in us as we have in them.

Hey Jordan! Happy Valentine's Day!! So I guess kindergartner's in Africa are the same as kindergartner's here, well at least they sound the same as my class!!! Especially today with all of the chocolate from Valentine's Day....
I can't wait to see all of your pictures are hear all about your trip! Did you already get "The Grand" booked or should I call to schedule it? ha ha ha :)
Love,
Katie
P.S. Tell your mom HI and give her a big hug!!
Kansas has been no warmer than Nebraska so hearing about sunburns kinda makes one jealous. It is wonderful to hear about how God's word is so easily spread from one to another even though there are cultural and language differences. God bless you all for the work you are doing!
